We started working out with this 40-year-old mom-to-be at the end of her first trimester. An avid workout junkie, she wanted to stay active throughout her pregnancy — and by the third trimester she was training exclusively in the water, right up to the day before she delivered her twin girls.
Only a few weeks after giving birth, we were back in the water, working to rebuild her core, and her doctor was impressed by her condition. Those twin girls are thriving today, healthy and happy — proof of what consistent water fitness gave her, long after delivery.
Why the Water Made Sense
Training through the entire pregnancy paid off — for an easier delivery, and for the recovery afterward.
Maintaining core, hip, and leg strength helped minimize the lower-back pain so common in pregnancy.
Core, hip, and leg strength — and flexibility — held up as her body changed.
Consistent movement in the water supported overall good circulation.
Keeping the baby weight in check meant more energy — and a much quicker recovery afterward.
